CITIZENTECH

 Extreme weather devastates communities worldwide.
Citizentech is creating a peer-to-peer network + hard tech to connect people,  businesses, and municipalities being affected and give them better information, so they can make better daily resilience decisions and get on-the-ground and more accurate warnings faster.

Currently recruiting technical, discipline, startup, and affected citizens for our Advisory Board.

What makes Citizentech tech?

What makes Citizentech citizen?

Citizentech develops community-grounded dignity-first solutions for climate change response.
We identify urgent community needs, especially for resilience and adaptation. Then we co-develop right size and right fit solutions:
  • license tech to solve urgent and researched issues
  • explore adoption of tech for new applications
  • refine processes and systems
  • work deeply with communities to identify issues and right size/right fit solutions.

Product Line A for Adaptation

We started first with the problems of farmers and found that EMS workers, municipalities, and other sectors face similar issues.
First, more about farmers:
  • Farmers in the US and globally maintain a highest suicide rate. The anxiety of farming never dies down. In the best of circumstances and the best of worlds, weather can ruin the work of any level or size of farmer.
  • Farmers assume risk that we ask of nearly no one in any other industry, putting themselves, their families, property, prosperity, money on the line, and then waiting to get paid. They assume all the risk of the production, the financing, the infrastructure, the feed, the inputs, and the equipment. And then the markets or weather can turn all of that hard work upside down.
Our Solution: an analytics platform + hard tech integration
This research-based analytics platform centers decision-making designed for farmers, and adaptable to other sectors, on the frontlines of escalating weather volatility and transforms reactive behaviors into proactive adaptation strategy and connection.
Status: pilot, expansion, refinement,  licensing, and commercialization

Hard Tech
Sciences of Dignity

Problem: As the climate is drastically shifted, water, soil, air, and weather analysis must become accessible and on demand for farmers, villages, towns, municipalities, cities, emergency personnel, and individuals as they contend with weather events, emergencies, increasing resilience, and being left on their own to respond to and prepare for climate crises.
Our Solution:
An analytics platform + hardtech multi-tool that centers expertise access through hardware democratization.
  • Working with university-based research that is researching and adapting licensable hard tech into increasingly smaller and lower-cost accessible sensors and analytical tools for water, soil, air, and weather this research converts elite or inaccessible scientific analysis tech into everyday resilience in-the-hand infrastructure.
  • Citizentech will license and manufacture a multi-tool device to empower farmers, emergency managers, villages, towns, municipalities, and developing communities to track and respond immediately through hard tech and mobile connection to risks like biological water and soil contamination, drought, air quality, and extreme weather.
Status: identification, partnering, off-the-shelf adaptation and mobile tech integration, funding

Citizentech's product/s center end-user needs and adoption to align with the World Meteorological Organization's goals of Early Warnings for All.

Citizentech's product/s align with:
  • UN Development Goal #3 Good Health and Well-being by increasing connection, decreasing isolation, and increasing response for daily resilience and emergency response for farmers, emergency workers, and municipalities.
  • UN Development Goal # 11 Sustainable Cities and Communities by localized knowledge sharing for improved agricultural. emergency, and municipal problem solving and extreme weather preparation and response.
  • UN Development Goal #10 Reduced Inequality by centering local problems and knowledge for solving issues of farmer and community resilience. Our model centers local concerns and input first and then connects with regional expertise, as appropriate.
  • UN Development Goal #13 of Climate Action and Goal #15, Life on Land, by integrating resilience and local expertise along with external expertise for focused problem solving and connection for sustainable farming, biodiversity protection, and halt and reverse land degradation.

Citizentech ensures adoption of resilience and adaptation climate hard tech for faster, lighter-on-its-feet, and broader dissemination.
We center tech development for the rest of us, especially for those people not always in the rooms where big decisions are made or their tech needs addressed.
